Delta Nu’s, Roger Borchers Pledge Class’ completion of the Bridge to Brotherhood process in the Spring of 2024!

Bridge to Brotherhood

The Delta Nu Chapter has recently adopted a new pledge program called Bridge to Brotherhood. This new program is a seven week long intensive learning program that integrates brothers and pledges like never before! Potential New Members are taught exactly what it means to be a Brother in Alpha Kappa Psi. Alpha Kappa Psi desires to develop the whole person, therefore, our core values of Brotherhood, Unity, Integrity, Knowledge, and Service are integrated into learning professional skills.

The Bridge to Brotherhood program really allows our brothers to interact and come together as a pledge class. For me, members of my pledge class from three years ago are some of my best friends and roommates today. I was able to grow my network by meeting older brothers, as well as business professionals in the corporate world. I was able to better understand tools such as LinkedIn, cover letter seminars, and resume workshops to ensure I am becoming the best business professional possible.
— Teddy Phelan, Senior, Finance and Marketing Major

Bridge to Brotherhood is a seven week program that teaches values, professionalism, setting goals, and becoming the best you that YOU can be! Each semester, our new pledge class chooses a charity or organization that is meaningful to them, and sells hotdogs to raise money for their organization. The pledge class during the Fall of 2022 put on a hotdog sale that raised over $300 for Good Neighbor House.

I speak for my entire pledge class when I say that B2B was extremely rewarding and valuable. The most valuable experience from the program was having multiple opportunities to work with a team towards a common goal, and then present our findings to a panel of brothers at Court of Honor. My confidence with public speaking in a professional business setting skyrocketed as I became closer with the members of my pledge class and the brothers I met through interviews. I believe the new program was very effective and it helped me thrive in the process.
